Proposed Harper voting rules to stay dead, new Liberal government says
Edmonton Sun December 02, 2015
The PMO said no decision has been made on the litigation or the existing legislation, but made it clear the Citizens Voting Act (or Bill C-50) proposed by the former government would stay dead.
Bill C-50 was at its second reading when Parliament was dissolved because of the 2015 elections. Since the Liberals won't vote to get the bill its third reading and subsequent Senate assent, this bill is effectively dead.
